My current program

Hey Ladies,
Just an FYI on what I have been doing to lose weight now that the baby is 1 year old! (no more excuses!!)
I am doing a weight loss program through Kaiser and started about 9 weeks ago.
http://www.kphealthyweight.com/program.cfm
I have a weekly weigh in/meeting with them. The meetings discuss everything from exercise, to emotional health, and understanding our BAD relationships with food.

To date: I went from weighing 174 to 157lbs in 8 weeks. Its an average of 2lbs/week. I have 9 more weeks to go and hope to get to the 140s by then. For my height (5'2), this puts me in a normal range on the BMI scale. I was not able to get under 170lbs on my own for months. (mostly due to still nursing - I have never been able to lose weight while nursing a baby.)

At week 17 I think it is, we start "transition" which means we start adding one meal of regular food a day.

I am MAKING myself exercise at least 3x a week on the treadmill for a 1/2 hour. They gave us a pedometer and said we should hit 10K steps a day. I think that is equivalent to 5miles.

Some days have been HARD not to want to eat something else. But, since I have seen results and others are noticing, I am SO MOTIVATED to continue. I don't feel hungry, its more out of habit that I want to eat something.

They tell us that this is the easy part. We are learning to "deal with food" without having to "deal with food." It will get tougher when we have to start making food choices again on our own.

My motto: Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels! ;P

I have realized that I will never be that person who can just eat anything and not have to worry about it. Also, I have to STOP the mindless snacking and the stress/boredom eating.

We had to keep food journals before we started on product, and let me tell you. I was sticking food in my mouth ALL THE TIME and I was not even hungry. BIG EYE OPENER for me.

So far I am very pleased with my results. If you have any questions about the program, check out the link or email me. You don't have to be a Kaiser member to participate. It does cost $, but since it is actually seeing results, I am good. I feel like I am investing in myself!
